Bill Analysis

SB 2381 would remove a prohibition on having a knife with a blade of over 5.5 inches in establishments which have more than 51% of their sales consist of alcohol for consumption on the premises, amusement parks, and places of religious worship.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 2381 because it advances the principles of personal responsibility, limited government, individual liberty, and property rights. The current prohibition on "location restricted knives" is arbitrary, has had negative unintended consequences, and does not serve a legitimate law enforcement purpose.
