Relating to providing mental health services and mental health education to public school students at school-based health centers.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 2282 would amend the Education Code to include mental health services in services that school-based health centers may provide. The bill would also require school boards to appoint someone from a licensed mental health service provider to the district's Health Education and Health Care board.
Due the permissible nature of this bill, Texas Action remains neutral on SB 2282 which does not appear to affect our liberty principles.
