Bill Analysis

SB 2126 would allow the San Jacinto River Authority and the Harris County Flood Control District to move sand, gravel, marl, shell, or mudshell from the San Jacinto River to restore, maintain, or expand the capacity of the river and its tributaries to convey storm flows. These entities would not be required to obtain a permit to take these materials nor would they be required to purchase the materials. These entities would be allowed to deposit the materials on private land.
