Bill Caption

Relating to providing access to local health departments and certain health service regional offices under the Medicaid managed care program.

Fiscal Notes

According to the Legislative Budget Board, no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.

The agency is required to implement a provision of this Act only if the legislature appropriates money specifically for that purpose. If the legislature does not appropriate money specifically for that purpose, the agency may, but is not required to, implement a provision of this Act using other appropriations available for that purpose.

Bill Analysis

SB 2021 would establish a separate provider type for local health departments, including health service regional offices acting in the capacity of local health departments, for purposes of enrollment as a provider for and reimbursement under the medical assistance program.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Since this is a matter that does not concern liberty principles, Texas Action has a neutral stance towards SB 2021.
