Bill Analysis

SB 1928 would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to replace "plaintiff" with "claimant" to clarify that any party seeking to sue certain licensed professionals (a licensed architect, professional engineer, registered professional land surveyor, or registered landscape architect) for malpractice must file a certificate of merit.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1928 because it is a procedural bill that does not affect our liberty principles.
