Bill Caption

Relating to authorizing certain cities to change the date on which their general election for officers is held.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1913 would allow Dallas city elections to be moved to the uniform November election date.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports SB 1913 which is in alignment with the principle of limited government. This is permissive and, if the city of Dallas takes advantage of the opportunity, would likely significantly increase voter turnout for city elections.
