Bill Analysis

SB 1793 would delete a conflicting provision of the Government Code relating to reciprocity in state contracts; codify the comptroller's office's practice of providing agencies the rate at which the rebate is assessed on Texas Multiple Award Schedule contracts; exempt attorneys from duplicative nepotism disclosure requirements; and clarify that the cooperative purchasing program (TX SmartBuy) members, including local government and workforce development boards, can purchase from the statewide travel services contracts.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on SB 1793 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
