Relating to use of project funds of municipal development districts.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 1367 would allow a municipal development district to fund certain projects outside of the district if the board of the municipal development district determines that the development project will provide an economic benefit to the district and the government body of the municipality that created the district by resolution approves the development project.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1367 because it does not affect our liberty principles. While we generally oppose the creation of these economic development districts, this bill appears to alter the functions of an existing one. Therefore, we remain neutral.
