Bill Analysis

Currently, the Penal Code defines a "person" as "an individual, corporation, or association." SB 1258 would add limited liability companies to the definition of "person" in the Penal Code. This would clarify that limited liability companies are subject to the same criminal liability as other types of legal entities.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1258 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
