Bill Analysis

The Skills Development Fund is a job-training program administered by the Texas Workforce Commission for the purpose of leveraging collaboration among businesses, public community and technical colleges, workforce development boards, and economic development partners to provide local customized training opportunities.

HB 700 would expand the eligibility to use the Skills Development Fund to workforce development boards and public libraries.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 700 because it does not affect our liberty principles. It would merely expand eligibility for the fund without increasing spending.
