No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 659 would require The Department of Corrections to maintain information on the number of inmates confined in a correctional facility who are parents of a child receiving educational services. By December 31 of each year, they would have to submit a report summarizing this information to the Texas Education Agency and Department of Family and Protective Services.
