Bill Analysis
HB 51 would amend Subchapter C, Ch. 72, of the Government Code by adding Section 72.0245 which would create a standard form for courts to use for actions in criminal proceedings. This bill would create standard forms for waiver of jury trial, appearance, confrontation and cross examination of witnesses, the defendant's consent to a jury trial, the introduction of documentary evidence, the waiver of a jury trial and pleading of guilty in a misdemeanor, the defendant's right to discovery and appeal as well as the prosecutor's recommended punishment for the defendant.
