Bill Analysis

HB 405 would designate June as Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Awareness Month.  Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome a term for a group of problems a baby experiences when withdrawing from exposure to narcotics. The bill is intended to encourage awareness, cooperation between federal and state agencies, and availability of resources for mothers to combat drug use.

Bills designating dates or months to raise awareness for particular causes do not affect our liberty principles and we remain neutral.
