Bill Analysis

Currently, law enforcement in certain specified counties have the authority to enforce gambling statutes against game rooms.

HB 389 would give Liberty County the power to regulate game rooms within the county, including instituting licenses for operation, instituting fees and conducting inspections.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 389 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
