Bill Caption

Relating to the establishment of the office of medical examiner in certain counties.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 3716 would reduce the number of counties that are required to establish the office of medical examiner by increasing the population threshold triggering the requirement to more than 2 million. This would prevent rapidly-growing counties from growing into the bracket when they pass the current population threshold.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 3716 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
