Relating to the fee for a permit authorizing the movement of certain
vehicles transporting an intermodal shipping container.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 3473 would alter the amounts of revenue raised from permit applications for movement of intermodal shipping container permits that are deposited to different state accounts. The bill would reduce the amount deposited to the State Highway Fund from 50% to 32%, and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles from 4% to 2%. Lastly, the bill would raise the amount equally divided among and distributed to each county designated in the permit application from 30% to 33%, and the amount equally divided among and distributed to each municipality in the application from 16% to 33%.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 3473 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
