Bill Analysis

This bill would allow certain counties along the southern border to impose an optional county fee for vehicle registration not to exceed $20 if approved by voters at a referendum. This fee would fund a regional mobility authority.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action opposes HB 333 for violating the principles of limited government and individual liberty.  Texans are already nickel-and-dimed by fees and assessments without needing to worry about adding new additional fees.
