Bill Analysis
HB 332 would change the qualifications for former or retired judges to be eligible to be assigned by the Chief of Justice of the Texas Supreme Court to an assignment. The bill would require the a former or retired judge to have not been reprimanded or censured within the past 10 years, convicted of a felony, or been charged with a domestic violence crime. In addition, the bill would additionally alter the time that the judge must have previously served as an active judge from 96 months to four terms.
