Bill Analysis

HB 3022 would create a local emergency warning system to send messages to a participant's email, home phone, or mobile phone. Under HB 3022, a political subdivision would be able to coordinate with the Department of Public Safety for purposes of disclosing the contact information of a resident who consents to being placed in the system. Participants are would be able to request to be removed from the warning system. HB 3022 would allow individuals to sign up for the warning system when obtaining or renewing their driver's license.
