Bill Analysis
HB 300 would revise procedural requirements related to evidence collection, delivery, and retention related to an inquest (investigation into the death of a person). According to the bill author's statement of intent, the purpose of this bill is to eliminate requirements which are "redundant and unnecessarily
burdensome for justice and district courts."
Vote Recommendation Notes
Texas Action is neutral on HB 300 because it is procedural in nature and neither advances nor hinders any of our liberty principles. To the extent that this bill may eliminate redundancies and unnecessary administrative burdens, this is likely sound public policy.
