Bill Caption
Relating to the personal needs allowance for certain Medicaid
recipients who are residents of long-term care facilities.
Fiscal Notes
According to Legislative Budget Board, HB 288 would have a negative impact of ($11,175,646) through the biennium ending August 31, 2021.
Bill Analysis
HB 288 would increase the amount permitted under the Personal
Needs Allowance for Medicaid patients in long-term care facilities, from $60
per month to $75.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill violates the principle of limited government by increasing the amount of a state subsidy which the Legislative Budget Board estimates will cost more than $5 Million per year. For these reasons, we oppose HB 288.
