Relating to reporting concerning female prisoners who are confined in county jails and to the provision of feminine hygiene products to female prisoners.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 2169 would require the Commission on Jail Standards to establish minimum standards for the quantity and quality of feminine hygiene products in jails, as well as include the number of female prisoners in the monthly report that the Commission is required to submit to counties. 

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2169 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
