Relating to an exemption from the assessment requirements of the Texas Success Initiative for students who achieve certain scores on certain high school equivalency examinations.

Bill Analysis

HB 1891 would add an exemption for students from being required to take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment. Under this bill, if a student achieved a score that is satisfactory set by the Board of Higher Education in a high school equivalency exam, they would be exempt from taking the TSI.  

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1891 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
