Relating to the information provided to relative and other designated caregivers of children in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services.
According to the Legislative Budget Board, no fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
HB 1884 would require that when a child is placed with a relative or other designated caregiver, the caregiver must be informed of the option to become verified by a licensed child-placing agency to operate an agency foster home, and of the permanency care assistance program by the Department of Family and Protective Services.
Since this is a matter that does not concern liberty principles, Texas Action has a neutral stance towards HB 1884.
