Bill Analysis

HB 1661 would allow an offense of continuous violence against a family to be prosecuted in any county in which it occurred. This bill would also authorize a jury, in a case related to ongoing violence, to not be required to agree unanimously in the decision of which county jurisdiction the defendant would be prosecuted in.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on HB 1661 because it addresses a procedural issue and has no apparent connection to our liberty principles.
