Bill Caption

Relating to certain public school workforce training programs funded by the skills development fund.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, certain workforce development training programs are funded by the skills development fund. HB 1469 would expand the pool of program providers by authorizing school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to offer workforce development training programs funded by the skills development fund.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on this bill. This does not create a new program or expand the cost of the existing program, it merely expands the list of eligible program providers to include school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.
