Relating to the creation of a disaster case management system by the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1307 would require the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to, if funds are available, contract with a vendor to create a case management system for people affected by a disaster. The bill would require the coordination of case management among various state agencies during a time of disaster. Individuals using the system during that time would be able to apply for assistance from multiple sources. Personally identifying information of individuals using the system would not be subject to disclosure under the Texas Public Information Act.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1307 as it does not affect any of our liberty principles.
