Relating to providing public high school students information regarding the availability of college credit awarded for military experience, education, and training obtained during military service.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 114 would require public school counselors to include information regarding military service and college credit awarded for service members and veterans when informing students and parents of post-secondary education options. The bill also  requires the the Labor Commission and the Higher Education Coordinating Board to annually make this information available to each public and open-enrollment charter school. 

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action would remain neutral on HB 114 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
