Bill Caption
Relating to the registration, operation, and inspection of
automated motor vehicles.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 113 would require drivers to indicate that an automated vehicle is automated when registering the vehicle.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 113 as it does not affect our liberty principles. We were initially opposed to this bill as filed because it included various burdensome and onerous registration and inspection requirements upon the drivers of automated vehicles, however all of these requirements except one minor one were removed in the committee substitute.
