Bill Analysis

If a candidate for an elected office dies on or before the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot, HB 1067 would allow the authority responsible for preparing the ballots to choose to omit the candidate from the ballot. If the authority does omit the candidate's name, then the filing deadline for an application for a place on the ballot for the same office would be extended until the fifth day after the filing deadline.
