Bill Analysis

This bill would create the Texas Commission on Public School Finance to develop recommendations for addressing issues related to the public school finance system. The commission would be required to deliver a report to the governor and the legislature by the end of 2018 and would expire in January of 2019.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill supports limited government by initiating a review of the public school finance system with a view toward making that system more effective and efficient. For this reason we support SB 16.
