Bill Caption

Urging Congress to propose and submit to the states for ratification a regulation freedom amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Bill Analysis

SCR 47 would urge the U.S. Congress to propose and submit to the states for ratification a regulation freedom amendment to the U.S. Constitution that dictates that whenever one-fourth of the members of either the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate submit a written declaration of opposition to a proposed federal regulation to the President, the regulation would require a majority vote of approval from both chambers for adoption.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This resolution enhances our free market, individual liberty, and limited government principles by urging the U.S. Congress to reduce the burdens of federal regulations on states by requiring legislative approval of certain proposed federal regulations. We support SCR 47.
