Bill Caption
Urging the United States Congress to continue joint federal-state funding of Texas Medicaid while transferring administration of the program to the Texas Legislature.
Bill Analysis
This bill would urge Congress to return the administration authority of Texas Medicaid to the State of Texas rather than Texas continually asking the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for more flexibility in the administration of the program.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Transferring the administration, control, and compliance of the Texas Medicaid program from the federal government in Washington to the State of Texas would enhance limited government by ensuring that the program would be administered more efficiently and with less waste, fraud, and abuse. For these reasons we support SCR 24.
