Bill Caption
Relating to the transfer of certain property from The University of Texas System to the Parks and Wildlife Department.
Fiscal Notes
A negative impact of $829,440 through the biennium ending August 31, 2019.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, the University of Texas owns and manages land as a state entity. SB 822 would require the transfer of 141.38 acres of university land to the Parks and Wildlife Department for use as a public golf course. If the land falls out of use as a golf course, ownership would be immediately transferred back to the university.
Vote Recommendation Notes
SB 822 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
