Bill Caption
Relating to choice of law and venue for certain construction contracts.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: no significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 807 would amend the Business & Commerce Code to add that if a construction contract or agreement affecting the construction contract contains a provision making the contract or agreement subject to another state’s law, it would be voidable by a party obligated to perform the work that is the subject of the contract.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This is a procedural bill that updates construction contracting law and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
