Bill Caption
Relating to restrictions on the location and operation of concrete crushing facilities.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, concrete crushing facilities can not operate within 440 yards of a residence, school, or place of worship. SB 793 would now prohibit operation within 440 yards of a public park or an outdoor recreational facility used
for organized sporting events.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill violates our free market and limited government principles by creating new regulations for where a concrete crushing facility may be located. It is not the proper role of state government to regulate where these facilities can and can not be located. For these reasons, we oppose SB 793.
