Bill Analysis

This bill would require that upon receiving notice that a court exercising jurisdiction under Section 262 Family Code has ordered the transfer of a suit under the section, the court with continuing exclusive jurisdiction would be required to transfer the suit to the court in which the suit under Section 262 is pending. The bill would also require that on a motion of a party or the court's own motion, the court that rendered a temporary order to transfer a suit to the court of continuing jurisdiction if the court finds that it is necessary for the convenience of the parties and in the best interest of the child.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would enact procedural changes that do not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
