Bill Caption
Relating to the repeal of certain state procurement advisory and approval procedures.
Fiscal Notes
From the Legislative Budget Board: no fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 632 would abolish the procedure of the awarding of a contract from the comptroller with a value of $100,000 or more over the life of the contract. Also, the Statewide Procurement Advisory Council would be abolished.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill enhances our limited government principle by improving the efficiency of the Comptroller's office through eliminating outdated portions of statute and an advisory board that is no longer necessary because its current functions have been absorbed elsewhere. We support SB 632.
