Bill Caption
Relating to the qualifications for a person conducting an adoption evaluation.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This bill would allow an otherwise qualified contractor with a domestic relations office to conduct adoption evaluations for that office.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill would help remedy potential staffing problems unintentionally created in a 2015 overhaul of the family code by clarifying that contractors of a domestic relations office are able to conduct adoption evaluations, thus making the adoption process go faster. This represents a lightening of regulatory burden, therefore we support this bill.
