Bill Caption
Relating to the participation of the school of osteopathic medicine at the University of the Incarnate Word in certain state programs supporting medical residency programs.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This bill, if enacted, would include the school of osteopathic medicine at the University of the Incarnate Word to the list of authorized Medical schools in the state of Texas.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill does not directly affect our liberty principles. However, we are concerned that this legislation would entitle the private school to state funding. We hope that the legislature will add language to this bill clearly stating that the University is not automatically entitled to state funding but for now, we remain neutral on this legislation.
