Bill Analysis

SB 454 would amend the Family Code to add that the petition in a suit for dissolution of a marriage, the parent-child relationship, and adjudication of parentage must state whether regarding a party or a child of a party if there is a family violence protective order, a sexual assault or abuse protective order, or an emergency protection order in place or an application is pending.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill updates disclosure of protective orders in certain suit petitions and does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
