No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

The governor is required by law to appoint a 17 member continuing advisory committee to advise on special education issues.

This bill would require that not later than January 1 of each odd-numbered year, the committee shall submit a report to the legislature with recommended changes to state law and agency rules relating to special education. This bill would also subject the committee to open meeting requirements and encourage public participation.
