No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the regional water planning group must provide an ongoing opportunity for public input during the creation of the regional water plan. SB 347 would change this requirement from just input to “participation.” It would also subject regional water planning groups and their committees to the government code requirements on open meetings and public information.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would support limited government by fostering transparency in regional water planning groups. For this reason, we support SB 347.
