Bill Caption
Relating to prohibiting governmental contracts with a company doing
business with Iran, Sudan, or a foreign terrorist organization.
Fiscal Notes
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
Under current law, there are no provisions which specifically prohibit the government from contracting with a business that also has dealings with known foreign terrorist organizations. SB 252 would require the creation of a list of such businesses by the comptroller and prohibit the government from entering into a contract with any of those businesses.
Vote Recommendation Notes
While this is likely sound public policy, SB 252 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
