Bill Analysis

This bill would create an office of ombudsman for the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). This office would be  responsible for handling complaints by children and youth in the conservatorship of the department regarding issues of authority of the department with another health and human services agency, and in assisting persons with complaints against the department regarding case-specific activities of the programs of the department. The ombudsman would be appointed by the governor.
