Bill Caption

Relating to the composition of the Port Authority Advisory Committee.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, the port authority advisory committee must consist of seven members appointed by the Texas Transportation Commission.

Senate Bill 2110 would increase the number of appointed members from seven to eight. One of the members would be required to be a representative of an inland port.

Vote Recommendation Notes

The authority to make changes to governing committees of political subdivisions is clearly within the legitimate responsibility of the government. SB 2110 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
