Bill Caption
Relating to a requirement that a student’s post-secondary transcript include the average or median grade awarded in each class.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the state is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB 2079 would require student transcripts, for public junior colleges and general academic teaching institutions, include the median grades for the entire class for classes that assign letter grades.
Vote Recommendation Notes
SB 2079 would make college transcripts more transparent and provide better context for letter grades. While this would be useful and is likely sound public policy, it does not appear to affect our liberty principles and we remain neutral.
