Bill Caption

Relating to off-site sales by a dealer for antique or special interest vehicles that have been subject to a retail sale.

Bill Analysis

SB 1952 would allow an automobile dealer licensed and bonded in another state to buy, and sell, including by consignment or exchanging at a public auction: an antique vehicle that is at least 25 years old or a special interest vehicle that is at least 12 years old or has been subject to retail sale. This would allow out of state dealers to participate in antique and special interest vehicle auctions in Texas without having to deal with unnecessary extra bureaucratic red tape merely because they are from out of state.

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 1952 upholds our principles of free markets and individual liberty by giving dealers more independence to participate in antique and specialty automobile auctions without having to jump through unnecessary regulatory hurdles.. We support SB 1952.
