Bill Caption
Relating to the effective management of caseloads in the investigation of child abuse or neglect reports by the Department of Family and Protective Services.
Fiscal Notes
From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
This bill would establish a procedure to review cases that remain open for 60 days following a report of abuse or neglect, and determine if the case qualifies for closure under the statute.
Vote Recommendation Notes
Closing cases that do not need to remain open would limit government by allowing more focus on cases that do need attention and allowing people to move on with their lives rather than have a case unnecessarily remain unresolved.
