Bill Caption

Relating to the matters that a taxing unit is entitled to challenge before an appraisal review board.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1906 would no longer allow a taxing unit to challenge before an appraisal review board the level of appraisals of any category of property in the district or in any territory in the district.

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 1906 would keep local taxing entities from self-initiating a challenge before the appraisal board for property values. This would keep these entities from trying to raise property values. We support this bill for its affirmation of property rights and limited government..
